Duplex in Andorra

The architect Jean Nouvel (Ateliers Jean Nouvel), in collaboration with the architects Josep Ribas (Ribas & Ribas Arquitectos) and Jordi Sala (Arquitectura Jordi Sala), is the author of the project named LA QUEROLA D’ORDINO . This unique and avant-garde residential complex is situated in the town of Ordino, that obtained the Biosphere Reserve seal granted by UNESCO in 2020. It is an architecture with a visionary design that integrates into the existing natural environment, becoming part of it. LA QUEROLA is a unique sensory experience for its inhabitants that begins with its exterior design. A façade with natural shapes that seeks to blend with the environment that surrounds it, is made up of more than 22,000 different pieces of natural stone that in an artisan way make up the exterior of this incredible work of art. The project, together with an inclusive landscape work, continues with the luxurious and spacious interiors of the homes, with the aim of providing all possible comforts and benefits to its inhabitants while preserving their privacy as much as possible. The residents will be able to enjoy spacious and well-kept common areas, as well as a wellness designed by Jean Nouvel, with a water area, relaxation area, hammam, sauna, massage room, yoga room, fitness room and an extraordinary semi-outdoor jacuzzi, as well as changing rooms and an outdoor pool. The project consists of only 51 homes, ranging from 300m2 to 1000m2. All the homes have their own private garage and elevator, as well as an area called The Family Room, fully equipped with a large fireplace and office area, thus being able to create unique spaces, from a study/library area, to a playground or a home theatre, so that each home fits perfectly with its owner. The penthouses are outstanding pieces, with great heights of irregular and open ceilings with large skylights. All the homes have large private outdoor spaces, terraces with barbecues, and some have a private garden with an integrated chillout area. In January 2022 LA QUEROLA was awarded as “Best Engineering Project” for the innovative air conditioning and heating system, and in April 2022, as “Best Real Estate and Sustainable Project in Andorra” by the newspaper La Razón in Madrid.
